How our pop-up wellness clinics are making preventive screenings accessible across Punta Gorda neighborhoods.
Access to preventive care shouldn't depend on where you live in Charlotte County. That belief drove our team to launch a series of pop-up community health fairs across Punta Gorda neighborhoods this summer — bringing screenings, immunizations, and wellness coaching directly to the people we serve.
At each fair, residents can access blood pressure checks, blood glucose screening, BMI assessment, and one-on-one consultations with our ShorePoint Nutrition and Fitness teams — all at no cost. For many attendees, it's the first time they've had a preventive screening in years.
The early results have been encouraging. Across the first four fairs, we identified dozens of residents with previously undiagnosed hypertension and prediabetes, and connected them to ongoing care through the ShorePoint Health Network. That's the point: a screening only matters if it leads to follow-through.
